3. Poor Man's Guide to Wind Power & Battery Systems - Richard Lewis

Ignore the rather cheesy animated wind turbine at the top of the page and take a serious look at this manual because this is serious stuff. It contains simple plans for 1000 Watt and 3000 Watt windmills, that's quite a lot of power.

There's a good FAQ section on the web page you should read as it covers most questions people have. Not only do you get the manual but a piece of software to analyze DC motors, this will save you a lot of calculator bashing and mind bending! It will allow you to easily calculate blade sizes too, I think this software's almost worth the price on it's own.

As it only covers wind power I might complain about value for money ($34.90) however it redeems it's self with the software and by giving you the knowledge and technology to obtain fork lift batteries for free and refurbish then sell them on for a tidy profit. Now this might not be every one's thing but it could represent a handy business or second income. It's a thought I'm seriously considering my self for the near future.
